COYWOLF PROCESSION

Sometimes the best way to care for one another is to play together. This procession was organized during an artist residency that included attendees from Turkey, Japan, Spain, Wales, and the US. After creating a Coywolf-god headdress, I invited residents to partake in a ritual on the beach. The spontaneous response resulted in a menagerie of costumes and characters that felt magical, maybe even religious – in an older way, when the sacred was tied to the earth and the stars.
