Volcano Goddesses

The Volcano Goddesses are an ongoing portrait series honoring womxn that are transforming the world.

I began these portraits in my small Brooklyn apartment during that first year of the pandemic. In response to the fear and stark inequity, I was a witness and accomplice to womxn in action. We responded by organizing mutual aid, demonstrating and educating for racial justice, speaking our truth, and demanding change. Each goddess represents a human I deeply admire. Many of them I know personally, some I have never met, but each has made a mark on my life and is changing the world for us all.
